One widely implemented approach is soft selling, where promotional content is presented subtly through lifestyle representation, personal narratives, and authentic experiences. Previous studies have largely examined influencer marketing from the perspective of purchase intention, brand awareness, and consumer engagement, while limited attention has been given to how soft selling communication strategies construct lifestyle meanings and gradually shape consumptive tendencies among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze how influencers implement soft selling strategies and how these strategies influence the formation of Gen Z consumer behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with five Gen Z informants aged 18–28 years and content analysis of influencer accounts on Instagram and TikTok. The findings reveal that soft selling strategies operate through impression management, consistent personal branding, and identity commodification, causing products to be perceived as part of an aspirational lifestyle. The novelty of this research lies in explaining soft selling not only as a marketing technique but also as a symbolic communication process that shapes consumption meanings. Theoretically, this study contributes to influencer marketing and communication studies by emphasizing the relationship between digital identity construction, lifestyle representation, and consumer behavior formation.
Yusni Rahma Tengku Walisyah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1521 1529 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.480 Training Engagement Intensity and Prosocial Character Among Young Taekwondo Participants https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/438
The increasing complexity of children’s psychosocial development in the digital era has intensified concerns regarding discipline, self-control, and prosocial behavior among young individuals. This study aimed to examine the statistical association between taekwondo training engagement intensity and children’s prosocial character among members of Dojang Golden Eagle. The study employed a quantitative cross-sectional correlational design involving 50 child and adolescent taekwondo participants selected using a total sampling approach. Data were collected through structured self-report questionnaires measuring training engagement intensity and children’s character dimensions, including discipline, responsibility, self-control, social respect, and self-confidence. Construct validity was evaluated using Exploratory Factor Analysis, while reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients. Multiple regression analysis was conducted after assumption testing procedures were satisfied. The findings indicated that training engagement intensity was positively and significantly associated with children’s character scores after controlling for demographic variables (β = .682, p = .001). The regression model explained 43.2% of the variance in character outcomes. The findings suggest that consistent participation in structured taekwondo training environments may be associated with stronger prosocial self-regulatory characteristics among children. Nevertheless, causal interpretations should be made cautiously due to the cross-sectional nature of the study.
Rizqi Agus Kurniawan Elda Pradana Tika Ifada Novikasari Umti Hamimah Rizqi Agustina Setyaningrum Irfan Musonif Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1530 1544 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.438 The Phenomenon of Determining the Start of Ramadan between the Government and Muhammadiyah from the Perspective of Religious Science https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/471
Determining the start of Ramadan in Indonesia often creates differences between the government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah, rooted in methodological variations in understanding religious evidence and astronomical approaches. This study aims to analyze the differences in the rukyat and hisab methods from a scientific and religious perspective using a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The study involved 30 respondents from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, who were purposively selected based on their active involvement in the organizations' religious activities. Data were obtained through a Google Form-based questionnaire and interviews, as well as field data collection through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively using triangulation techniques to ensure validity. A reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha was conducted on a 30-item questionnaire instrument covering seven variables; a reliability coefficient of 0.89 was obtained, indicating high instrument consistency. The results showed that 90–97% of respondents demonstrated a high understanding and acceptance of the rukyat and hisab methods, with the integration of religious science and religious perspective variables achieving the highest agreement (97%). Differences in determining the start of Ramadan are not only methodological but also reflect theological, scientific, and social dynamics. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive integration of astronomical science and Islamic jurisprudence perspectives in examining the phenomenon of determining the Hijri calendar, which provides a new theoretical framework for the study of religious science integration in the context of the Indonesian Hijri calendar. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen education regarding rukyat and hisab methods and increase dialogue between the government and religious organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah to achieve harmony amidst methodological diversity.
Vina Novita Z. Rapid technological advancement should not be separated from social morality grounded in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The integration of PAI and digital literacy is expected to guide society in using technology positively, strengthening social ethics, and preventing negative impacts such as the misuse of social media, the spread of invalid information, and the weakening of ethical control in digital interactions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between modern technology and social morality through the integration of PAI and digital literacy using a mixed-method approach with a case study design. The subjects included 30 respondents and two key informants from diverse backgrounds. Data were collected through questionnaires and dyadic in-depth interviews and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicate that the level of public understanding is very high, with an average score of 4.63, demonstrating the community’s ability to integrate PAI values into ethical and responsible technology use. However, challenges remain, including reduced in-person social interaction and limited digital literacy among some members. Overall, this integration requires continuous educational support.
Nurul Habibah Arfizeah Z. While previous studies have predominantly examined digital da'wah through social media platforms and individual religious influencers, limited attention has been given to institutional website-based da'wah strategies implemented by traditional Islamic organizations. This empirical gap is particularly evident in studies of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at the regional level. Moreover, existing research often employs a single theoretical perspective, leaving a theoretical gap regarding the integration of multiple communication and media theories in understanding digital religious communication. This study aims to analyze the digital da'wah strategy implemented by Jateng.nu.or.id, the official digital platform of Nahdlatul Ulama Central Java. Employing a qualitative case study approach with thematic analysis, the research draws upon website observations, document analysis, and interviews with key informants involved in digital media management and religious communication. The analysis is informed by Digital Da'wah Theory, Uses and Gratifications Theory, Media Ecology Theory, Diffusion of Innovation Theory, and Social Media Engagement Theory. The findings reveal five strategic dimensions of digital da'wah: institutionalization of digital religious communication, strategic content diversification, multi-platform dissemination, audience engagement and participation, and sustainability through organizational credibility and technological adaptation. The study demonstrates that Jateng.nu.or.id functions not only as a medium for disseminating Islamic teachings but also as a digital ecosystem that strengthens religious authority, community interaction, and public access to credible religious information. Theoretically, this study proposes the Digital Da'wah Ecosystem Strategy Model, offering an integrated framework for understanding institutional digital da'wah in contemporary Muslim societies. Practically, the findings provide insights for Islamic organizations seeking to optimize digital media for sustainable religious communication.
Alfin Sirojul Abidin Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1564 1572 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.466 Community Percpections of the Integration of Islam and Science Hygie Practies in Kampung Tualang https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/457

Community life demonstrates that Islamic values and scientific knowledge are closely connected, particularly in hygiene practices. This condition has the potential to limit the strengthening of religious moderation in multicultural Indonesian society. This study aims to analyze the transformation of diversity literacy in Islamic boarding schools from a doctrinal memorization pattern to an interpretive approach through a synthesis of Robert Jackson's thoughts and Azyumardi Azra's Islamic pluralism. The study used a qualitative approach with a library research type. Data were obtained from various literature on Islamic boarding school education, religious moderation, multicultural education, yellow book learning, and bahtsul masa'il activities, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that diversity literacy in Islamic boarding schools has shifted from memorization-oriented learning to a more dialogical, reflective, and contextual process. In addition, Azyumardi Azra's concept of Islamic pluralism is relevant in strengthening religious moderation through the values of wasathiyah, tolerance, and ukhuwah basyariyah. The integration of interpretive approaches and Islamic pluralism also contributes to the development of multicultural education in Islamic boarding schools by encouraging openness, respect for differences, and a culture of deliberation through discussions of religious texts and bahtsul masa'il (Islamic discourse). These findings underscore the potential of Islamic boarding schools to develop students who are religious, moderate, and adaptable to a diverse society.
Niza Baits Fadlilatuzzahro Mambaul Ngadhimah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1591 1599 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.468 Jacques Derrida's Deconstruction: Theory, Method and Its Application in Text and Discourse Studies https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/476
This article examines Jacques Derrida's deconstruction theory as a critical approach to understanding text, language, and reality. Deconstruction emerged as a response to the Western philosophical tradition that emphasizes certainty, unity, and absolute truth a tendency that Derrida referred to as logocentrism and the metaphysics of presence. This study aims to describe the theoretical background of deconstruction, explain its concepts and principles, elaborate on the deconstructive reading method, and illustrate its application in text and discourse studies. This study employs a library research approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that deconstruction is grounded in a critique of logocentrism, binary opposition, and the metaphysics of presence in Western philosophy. Its core principles include the instability of meaning, rejection of binary hierarchies, and the concept of différance as both deferral and difference of meaning. The deconstructive reading method involves identifying binary oppositions, reversing hierarchies, exposing internal contradictions, tracing the trace of meaning, and opening new possibilities of interpretation. In text and discourse studies, deconstruction is used to uncover hidden meanings, power relations embedded in language, and to foster critical thinking in educational contexts. Deconstruction, therefore, functions not only as a method of textual analysis but also as a mode of critical thinking relevant to the development of contemporary knowledge.
Muhammad Saikhudin Eva Dewi Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1600 1606 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.476 Strategies of Elementary School Teacher Education Students in Overcoming Public Speaking Anxiety During Academic Presentation Activities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/442
Academic presentations are part of the pedagogical training of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students, and many of them experience anxiety about public speaking. This research was an attempt to see how anxiety manifests in the lives of public speakers, how they cope with it, and what factors determine if coping strategies work. The approach used was qualitative descriptive method, number of respondents of PGSD students in the selection of 5 students used purposive sampling at PGRI Ronggolawe University. Semi-structured in-depth interviews and field notes were used to collect data and subsequently analyzed thematically using the Self-Efficacy theory. The results indicate that students are anxious in 3 aspects: the physiological aspect, such as trembling, sweating and fast heartbeat, the cognitive aspect, fear of negative evaluation and difficulty in concentrating, and the behavioral aspect, avoiding eye contact, and speaking too fast. Students employed both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies to manage these situations. Problem-focused approaches included thorough preparation and repeated practice, while emotion-focused coping involved relaxation exercises, breathing techniques, visualization, positive self-talk, and seeking social support. Self-efficacy, previous experience, quality of preparation and support from peers or lecturers are all significant factors in the effectiveness of the strategies. In general, public speaking anxiety could be dealt with by adaptive coping strategies and supportive learning environments to boost students' abilities to communicate.
Siti Nova Chusnul Khotimah Ifa Seftia Rakhma Widiyanti Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 3 1607 1615 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.442 Development of Career Brochures as a Career Information Service Medium for Students https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/462
This study aimed to develop a career brochure based on Holland’s Theory (RIASEC) as a career information service medium for students and to examine its feasibility and practicality. On the one hand, digital media expands access to religious knowledge; on the other hand, it has the potential to disseminate non-credible information and influence students’ religious attitudes. This study aims to analyze students’ digital religious literacy in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning and its implications for strengthening religious moderation. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Babadan, Ponorogo. The participants consisted of one Islamic Religious Education teacher and five eleventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model. The findings reveal four main themes. First, there has been a transformation in the sources and construction of students’ religious literacy, shifting from a teacher-centered model to the utilization of diverse digital sources. Second, critical digital literacy enhances students’ religious understanding through practices of information verification, source comparison, and confirmation of religious information. Third, Islamic Religious Education teachers serve as epistemic guides who assist students in identifying credible religious sources while integrating digital media into the learning process. Fourth, digital religious literacy contributes to strengthening students’ understanding of religious moderation by fostering tolerance, openness, and respect for diversity. The study concludes that digital religious literacy has the potential to reinforce religious moderation when supported by students’ critical thinking skills and adequate teacher guidance in navigating the digital environment.
Anggi Wulandini Mambaul Ngadimah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-23 2026-06-23 6 3 1631 1639 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.469 Karl Popper's Falsification and Its Implications in Research Methodology https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/473
This article critically examines Karl Raimund Popper's theory of falsification as one of the most significant epistemological contributions to the philosophy of science in the twentieth century. Despite extensive scholarship on Popperian philosophy, there remains a gap in the literature regarding its integrated methodological application, particularly in the context of contemporary scientific research and integrative Islamic scholarship. This study employs a qualitative library research approach, utilizing historical analysis, conceptual analysis, and critical synthesis as its analytical framework. Primary sources include Popper's foundational works, The Logic of Scientific Discovery (1959) and Conjectures and Refutations (1963), supplemented by relevant secondary and tertiary literature. The findings indicate that falsification emerged as a critical response to the Vienna Circle's verification principle, offering a more robust demarcation criterion that distinguishes empirical science from non-science based on a theory's falsifiability. Rather than serving merely as a logical procedure, falsification carries concrete methodological implications: a paradigmatic shift from inductive to hypothetico-deductive logic, the emergence of corroboration as a replacement for absolute confirmation, and a demand for critical rigor in hypothesis formulation. This article further argues that the epistemological limitations of falsification, including its susceptibility to auxiliary hypothesis manipulation as identified in the Duhem-Quine thesis, require engagement with post-Popperian frameworks such as Lakatos's research programmes. Ultimately, falsification remains an indispensable epistemological tool for maintaining methodological integrity in research that claims scientific status.
Nasrun Nasrun Eva Dewi Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-23 2026-06-23 6 3 1640 1680 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.473 The Effect of Animated Video Media on Learning Motivation in Islamic Religious Education Among Grade VIII Students of MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/475
Learning motivation plays an important role in supporting the success of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning. However, initial observations at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru revealed that students' learning motivation was still low, characterized by a lack of activity, enthusiasm, and focus during learning. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on the learning motivation of Grade VIII students at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population and sample consisted of 32 students selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample t-Test with the aid of SPSS version 25. The results showed that all instrument items were valid (r-calculated > r-table = 0.349) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.840). Descriptive statistics indicated an increase in the mean learning motivation score from 41.37 at pretest to 54.06 at posttest. The normality test confirmed normal data distribution (pretest Sig. = 0.403; posttest Sig. = 0.060). The Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of Hₐ. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media has a significant effect on the learning motivation of Grade VIII students in Islamic Religious Education at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru.
Hasyiyati Hasyiyati Nunu Mahnun Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-23 2026-06-23 6 3 1649 1657 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.475 Educational Values in Fathul Kutub: The Experience of Students of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/485
This article aims to analyze and describe the educational values contained in Fathul Kutub's activities based on the experiences of KMI final grade students at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor For Girls Campus 3. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected in-depth interviews, direct observation during the activity, and documentation, including field notes and Fathul Kutub assignment sheets. In terms of Arabic language development, Fathul Kutub contributes to improving students four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing, through direct engagement with classical Islamic texts. The internalization of this value occurs through an experiential learning process in which students actively search, analizy, discuss and present ideas based on authoritative references. These findings imply that Pesantren educators need to design contextual, text-based learning activities that strengthen both students’ intellectual capacity and character formation in the digital era will facing contemporary educational challenges more effectively.
Fanisa Aulia Putri Fairuz Subakir Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-23 2026-06-23 6 3 1658 1668 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.485 The Digital Era and The Knowledge Revolution: Perspectives From Islamic Epistemology and Islamic Religious Education https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/481
This article examines the intersection of the digital era's knowledge revolution and the Islamic epistemological framework, and its implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The digital era described by Manuel Castells as the "network society," Alvin Toffler as the "third wave," and Don Tapscott as the rise of the "Net Generation" has fundamentally transformed how humans acquire, process, and disseminate knowledge. Employing a qualitative library research method with philosophical-analytical content analysis, this article argues that Islamic epistemology which integrates revelation (wahy), reason (aql), the senses (hawas), and intuition (qalb) under the principle of tawhid is capable of critically responding to and correcting the digital knowledge revolution, which tends toward secularism and value-neutrality. The integration-interconnection paradigm (M. Amin Abdullah), Islamization of Knowledge (al-Faruqi), and the concept of ta'dib (al-Attas) serve as the foundational pillars for reconstructing PAI in the digital age. The results show that PAI must transform from mere cognitive transfer toward the cultivation of adab and digital literacy grounded in Islamic values, making technology a tool for da'wah while simultaneously serving as a bulwark against hoaxes, post-truth, and the disruption of scholarly authority. Despite the significance of these three elements in shaping human development, their interconnection as an integrated framework within Islamic intellectual tradition remains underexplored in existing scholarship. Using a library research design and a thematic and comparative philosophical analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic sources, this study identifies three key patterns: (1) language functions as a divine gift and epistemological vehicle for transmitting knowledge across generations; (2) education conceptualized through tarbiyah, ta'lim, and ta'dib transforms linguistic and cognitive capacity into moral and spiritual formation; and (3) civilization emerges as the cumulative expression of sustained educational traditions, as illustrated by Ibn Khaldun's concept of 'umran. The analysis reveals a mutually reinforcing triad in which each element enables and sustains the others. The paper concludes that this Islamic integrative framework offers a normatively rich and practically relevant alternative to reductive models of education, with particular implications for curriculum design and civilizational renewal in contemporary Muslim-majority contexts.
Ayu Pertiwi Sutarmo Sutarmo Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-23 2026-06-23 6 3 1688 1696 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.492 Sociology of Educational Institutions: Motivation And Influence of Socioeconomic Status on Student Involvement in PKBM Ar-Rosyid Purwokerto https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/436
This research is motivated by the fact that there is still a gap in student involvement influenced by the socioeconomic status (SSE) of families in non-formal educational institutions. The study aims to analyze the influence of SSE on student motivation and engagement in PKBM Ar Rosyid Purwokerto, identify the factors that mediate these relationships, and explore institutional strategies in reducing learning participation gaps. The research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study design anchored. The data source consisted of 3 homeroom teachers, 12 students from the low, medium, and high SSE categories, the head of PKBM, and 3 parents who were selected through purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. The research employed a qualitative approach through library research. The primary data sources consisted of the Qur'an, Hadith, classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship on Maqasid Shariah, as well as scientific publications discussing religious moderation and multiculturalism. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis by identifying, categorizing, and synthesizing key themes related to the objectives of Islamic law and the principles of religious moderation. The findings indicate that Maqasid Shariah, through the principles of preserving religion (hifz al-din), life (hifz al-nafs), intellect (hifz al-'aql), lineage (hifz al-nasl), and property (hifz al-mal), provides a normative foundation for promoting tolerance, social justice, peaceful coexistence, and resistance to radicalism. The novelty of this study lies in its conceptual synthesis that systematically links the objectives of Maqasid Shariah with indicators of religious moderation and social welfare in multicultural contexts. The study contributes theoretically by enriching the discourse on religious moderation through a maqasid-syariah framework that bridges Islamic normative values with contemporary social realities. Therefore, Maqasid Shariah serves not only as a legal objective but also as a conceptual foundation for strengthening social welfare and harmonious coexistence in multicultural societies.
Krisnanda Alifia Ramadhanty Moh. This study aims to analyse the limitations of conventional IRE assessment and reconstruct a multicultural-based evaluation framework that promotes diversity awareness and social cohesion. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA protocol, this study examined 51 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that conventional assessment models tend to be superficial because they emphasise conceptual understanding while neglecting affective, behavioural, and social dimensions. The review also shows that adaptive multicultural learning strategies, including contextual, dialogic, collaborative, and authentic approaches, are more effective in cultivating tolerance and inclusive attitudes. This study proposes a reconstructed CIPP-based assessment framework encompassing Context, Input, Process, and Product evaluation. The framework contributes to IRE evaluation theory by shifting assessment from academic measurement toward transformative evaluation of value internalisation, inclusive practice, and social harmony.
Nurul Latifatul Inayati Musa Asy'arie Sekar Ayu Aryani Muthoifin Muthoifin Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 3 1753 1765 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.487 Intercultural Communication Amid the Diversity of the Teluk Patipi Community West Papua https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/499
The ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity in Teluk Patipi District, West Papua, presents both social resources and potential sources of tension, making intercultural communication crucial for maintaining harmony. This study aims to examine how the Teluk Patipi community uses intercultural communication practices to maintain social cohesion amidst diversity. A qualitative research design with an ethnographic communication approach was used. Data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, youth leaders, and migrant residents. The findings reveal three main communication patterns: ritual-cultural communication, everyday social communication, and symbolic-ecological communication. Ritual-cultural communication is evident in traditional ceremonies that strengthen trust, identity negotiation, and cultural adaptation. Everyday social communication emerges in multilingual interactions, reciprocal cooperation, and interethnic social relationships that build intimacy and solidarity. Symbolic-ecological communication integrates customary values, religious principles, and environmental awareness into everyday community life. This communication pattern is supported by local wisdom, particularly deliberation, mutual cooperation, and the philosophy of Satu Tungku Tiga Batu”, as well as interfaith communication that promotes inclusivity and conflict prevention. This study concludes that social harmony in Patipi Bay continues to be built through adaptive intercultural communication based on local wisdom, shared values, and collective responsibility.
Muhammad Zidnal Hikam Asep Dadang Abdullah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 3 1766 1775 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.499 Reassessing Al-Khwarizmi’s Intellectual Legacy in the Era of Industrial Revolution 5.0 https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/504
This study aims to examine the intellectual relevance of Al-Khwarizmi’s scientific legacy within the framework of Industrial Revolution 5.0, particularly in relation to the development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital computation, and the human-centered technology paradigm. The absence of constructive social interaction, combined with strong environmental influence and uncontrolled exposure to digital information, often contributes to the development of prejudice from an early age. This research focuses on examining how dialogue-oriented learning can function as an educational strategy to minimize prejudice and strengthen tolerant attitudes among junior high school students. A qualitative case study design was employed to capture students’ experiences and observe interaction patterns occurring in the school environment. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and supporting documentation, then interpreted through an interactive qualitative analysis process. The findings reveal that students’ perceptions toward religious differences are gradually shaped by family influence, digital media exposure, and limited opportunities for direct interaction with diverse groups. Classroom dialogue activities were found to encourage openness, improve empathy, and help students develop more inclusive perspectives toward diversity. The study highlights the importance of dialogue-based educational practices as an effective effort to reduce intolerance while strengthening multicultural awareness within schools.
Firda Azahra Choirul Muttaqin Mambaul Ngadhimah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-28 2026-06-28 6 3 1824 1832 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.494 Improving Grade V Students’ Mathematics Learning Outcomes on FPB Topics Through Problem-Based Learning https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/451
The low mathematics learning outcomes in the Biggest Common Factor (FPB) material in grade V of SD Negeri 3 Larangan is due to learning that is still teacher-centered so that students are less active in understanding concepts and solving problems. The findings reveal that kyai leadership is a multidimensional phenomenon consisting of seven major dimensions: spiritual leadership, charismatic leadership, transformational leadership, visionary leadership, cultural broker leadership, entrepreneurial leadership, and adaptive-collaborative leadership. The study further demonstrates that kyai serve as spiritual leaders, agents of organizational change, developers of institutional culture, educational innovators, cultural mediators, community empowerment leaders, and managers of educational transformation. Based on the synthesis of the reviewed literature, this study proposes an Integrative Model of Kyai Leadership in Building Islamic Education Management, which incorporates these seven leadership dimensions into a unified conceptual framework. This study contributes theoretically to the advancement of Islamic education management literature and provides a foundation for future research on Islamic educational leadership.
Suprihno Suprihno Binti Maunah Asrof Syafi’i Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-28 2026-06-28 6 3 1855 1868 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.482 Negotiating Spiritual Identity: Islamic Education Strategies in Adolescents’ Digital Lives https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/467
The rapid expansion of digital technology has reshaped adolescents’ social interactions, knowledge construction, and identity formation, raising concerns about the sustainability of spiritual identity in digitally mediated environments. This study examines how Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) contributes to adolescents’ spiritual identity formation in the digital era. A qualitative descriptive case study was conducted in a public junior high school in Indonesia from January to February 2026. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, and students, and analyzed inductively using an interactive model. The findings reveal three interconnected patterns: (1) contextual adaptation of Islamic teachings to digital realities, (2) experiential-reflective learning practices fostering critical awareness of digital behavior, and (3) ethical modeling supported by institutional structures. These patterns indicate that spiritual identity emerges through the interaction between pedagogy, lived digital experience, and school culture. This study proposes a situated model of spiritual identity formation, positioning religious education as a mediating space for negotiating values within digital contexts. The findings highlight the potential of PAI as an adaptive pedagogical framework that integrates religious values with contemporary digital life
M. This study aims to analyze integrative innovative leadership in Qur’anic pesantren education at Tholibul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School. The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with key informants, consisting of the foundation chairman and ustadz/ustadzah involved in the educational process, supported by document review and relevant literature. The data were analyzed thematically through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that integrative innovative leadership operates through four connected mechanisms. First, leaders respond to the aspirations of students’ parents who expect pesantren education to be connected with formal academic recognition. Second, institutional change is legitimized through deliberation between leaders and pesantren administrators. Third, formal education through MTs and MA becomes a strategy to expand the social and academic function of the pesantren. Fourth, Qur’anic traditions are maintained through memorization, Qur’anic learning, daily worship practices, dakwatul Qur’an, and character formation. This study contributes to Islamic educational leadership studies by showing that innovation in Qur’anic pesantren is not a shift from tradition to modernization, but an integrative process that connects social needs, institutional renewal, and the preservation of Islamic values.

Mutanafisah Qurrotu `Ainina Imam Makruf Mudofir Mudofir Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-30 2026-06-30 6 3 1882 1889 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.519 Strategic Leadership of Madrasah Principals in Enhancing Student Quality: A SWOT-Based Assessment at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/506
Increasing public trust in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru, reflected in rising student enrollment, sustained academic and non-academic achievements, and expanding flagship programs, highlights the importance of strategic leadership in improving student quality. However, previous studies have predominantly examined educational leadership in relation to school effectiveness, teacher performance, or organizational management, while limited attention has been given to how strategic leadership is formulated, implemented, and evaluated through a SWOT-based approach to improve student quality in public madrasahs. This study therefore aims to analyze the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of the principal’s strategies for improving student quality based on SWOT analysis at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using interviews, observations, and document analysis, with data analyzed through the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that strategic formulation was conducted systematically through institutional evaluation and SWOT analysis, while implementation was supported by collaborative leadership, teacher professional development, and differentiated academic and non-academic programs. Continuous evaluation focused on student achievement, graduate transition to higher education, and character development as indicators of educational quality improvement. The novelty of this study lies in demonstrating how SWOT-based strategic leadership integrates evidence-based planning, participatory management, and continuous evaluation to strengthen student quality within the context of Islamic secondary education. These findings provide practical implications for madrasah leaders by emphasizing the importance of data-driven decision-making, collaborative governance, and sustainable quality assurance in improving student outcomes
Sary Zuanda M. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the head of the madrasah, vice principal for student affairs, program supervisors, and students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation. The findings reveal that the program is planned systematically through stakeholder coordination and implemented continuously as part of religious development activities. The program functions not only as a ritual practice but also as an educational process that promotes habituation, role modeling, and active student participation. Supporting factors include institutional support, supervisor competence, student involvement, and a religious school environment. Inhibiting factors consist of limited facilities, less varied instructional methods, and external influences. The novelty of this study lies in the utilization of the Friday sermon as a student participation-based character-building model. The program contributes to enhancing religious awareness, discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, and strengthening students’ aqidah and moral values.
Miftah Aulia Putri Sinaga Asnil Aidah Ritonga Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-07-14 2026-07-14 6 3 1900 1908 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.503 Student Character Development Model Based on Religious Values at MAN 1 Ngawi https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/497
This study aims to examine the implementation of the Friday sermon program in strengthening students’ aqidah and moral values at MTs UIN North Sumatra, covering the planning and implementation processes as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study intends to investigate the trends, techniques, and results of digital curation and educational literacy enhancement by using SLR approach and PRISMA 2020 protocol. A total of 30 articles were obtained from the database of Scopus, spanning 2015 to 2026. Thematic analysis was used to identify the patterns and themes that were visible in varied literature. The results show that the research increased after 2020, due to the digital acceleration caused by the pandemic. Four key themes surfaced: digital curation fosters information and digital literacy (36.7%); it fosters critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making (26.37%); Digital curation is the administration of media and educational materials (16.7%); it also promotes educators' professional development (20.0%). Developmental and conceptual approaches were the most commonly used techniques (26.7% of papers). Four benefits of digital curation on educational literacy have been noted in a number of articles: an increase in digital and information literacy skills; the encouragement of critical thinking and evidence-based decision making; support for teachers' professional development; and assistance in managing digital media and learning resources
Hilmy Shalahudin Nasyor Evi Fatimatur Rusydiyah Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-06-30 2026-06-30 6 3 1917 1926 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.463 Preserving the Earth as Maqashid al-Shariah: A Maqashidi Interpretation of Qur’anic Verses Prohibiting Environmental Corruption https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/491
This research examines the Qur’anic verses prohibiting acts of destruction on earth using a maqashidi exegetical approach, integrating them into the five aspects of daruriyyat al-khamsah (religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property). Employing a qualitative library-based research method with a thematic (maudhu’i) approach, this study analyzes QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 11, QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 205, QS. Al-A’raf [7]: 56, and QS. Ar-Rum [30]: 41, with reference to four contemporary commentaries: Tafsir al-Maraghi, Tafsir al-Jawahir, Tafsir al-Misbah, and Tafsir al-Azhar. The findings demonstrate that the prohibition against causing damage on earth constitutes an integral part of the objectives of Islamic law (maqashid al-syariah). Furthermore, this research offers a critical analysis of the limitations of classical exegesis in addressing contemporary ecological issues and proposes hifz al-bi’ah (environmental preservation) as a solution to environmental degradation. The results show that the prohibition against causing damage on earth is not merely an ecological moral imperative but an integral part of the objectives of sharia. These four verses implicitly contain the protection of all five maqashid simultaneously. Thus, environmental preservation from a maqashid perspective is an obligation equivalent to protecting religion, soul, intellect, lineage, and property.
Syafira Mujahidah Charis M. This research aims to describe the horizon of student acceptance for the twelve Kompas Selected Short Stories 2024 and formulate criteria for curating junior high school literature readings. This descriptive qualitative research involved 23 students of grade VII C of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Junior 6 East Jakarta. Data were obtained through written responses about predictions, feelings, understanding, and further desires after reading, as well as learning observations. The data were analyzed heuristically and hermeneutically with the categories of expectation horizon, reception horizon, advanced response, and reception variation. The results showed that short stories with concrete conflicts, relatively clear language, easily recognizable characters, and themes related to students' experiences tended to receive positive responses. Ambivalent or resistive responses arise when the text contains cultural vocabulary, dense symbols, distant socio-political contexts, or sensitive themes. These findings resulted in five curation criteria, namely readability, experiential proximity, clarity of conflict, thematic sensitivity, and reflectivity. Practically, these criteria can be used to classify short stories as priority reading, supervised reading, or selective reading, while determining support such as context introduction, glossary, and directed discussion
Ira Susma Sari Yusro Edy Nugroho Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities 2026-07-02 2026-07-02 6 3 1935 1945 10.52366/edusoshum.v6i3.520
