Al-Baqarah: 256). The background of this research is based on the importance of education as a means of forming tolerant character in a pluralistic society, and there are still challenges in the implementation of tolerance values in the school environment. The method used is a qualitative approach with the maudhuiy (thematic) tafsir method, through the analysis of relevant Qur'anic verses, classical and contemporary interpretations, and tolerance education literature. The results of the study show that the verse لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ contains the principle of religious freedom which is the theological foundation for the development of tolerance in education. The internalization of tasamuh values can be carried out through an approach that integrates cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects, with teachers playing the role of facilitators and role models. Implementation strategies include interactive dialogue, experiential learning, positive reinforcement, and value reflection. The application of this pedagogical model has been proven to be able to create an inclusive, harmonious classroom environment, and support the moral and social development of students.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/362 Intercultural Pedagogy Practice: A Scottish Teacher’s Experience with Vietnamese and Indonesian EFL Learners Online 2026-04-20T09:29:48+07:00 Safrina Hulu safrinahulu28@gmail.com Ni Nyoman Padmadewi nym.padmadewi@undiksha.ac.id I Gede Budasi gede.budasi@undiksha.ac.id
This study explores the role of a teacher's instructional beliefs and intrinsic motivational orientations in facilitating culturally mediated online English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. The research focuses on a Scottish teacher voluntarily conducting online English lessons for Vietnamese and Indonesian students using synchronous and asynchronous tools. Guided by Self-Determination Theory encompassing competence, relatedness, and autonomy, this qualitative case study collected data through interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of student communications and learning materials. Findings reveal that the teacher's altruistic motivation shapes a learning approach centered on intelligibility-oriented pronunciation, reading guidance, and emotional encouragement, thereby enhancing students' self-confidence and motivation. Student autonomy was supported indirectly through a structured learning approach that aligned with their cultural preference for direct instruction and correction. These findings underscore the significance of a teacher's belief system and motivational orientations in facilitating effective online EFL learning across diverse cultural backgrounds.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/363 Implementation of the Reciprocal Teaching Model in Fiqh Learning to Improve Students' Learning Independence 2026-04-20T09:32:27+07:00 Mhd. The background of this research is the low learning independence of students due to the dominance of teacher-centered learning methods. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects consist of fiqh teachers and ninth-grade students selected purposively. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching has been carried out systematically through activities of summarizing, questioning, clarifying, and predicting, supported by learning tools such as lesson plans and student worksheets. This model has been proven to increase students' activeness, engagement, and social interaction, thereby promoting the development of learning independence. However, its implementation still faces challenges such as limited time, uneven student participation, and low self-confidence in some students. Thus, Reciprocal Teaching is an effective learning model for enhancing students' learning independence, but it requires strengthening in classroom management and teacher guidance to achieve more optimal results.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/366 The Influence Of Technology On Language Acquisition and Development Of Grade IV Students 2026-04-25T08:11:36+07:00 Nursalim Nursalim nursalim@uin-suska.co.id Nadilla Resti Amanda nadillarestiamanda@gmail.com Wini Ihwana winiihwana@gmail.com Herdila Herdila herdila2002@gmail.com
The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to education, particularly in language acquisition and development among elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities of education financing in the era of digital transformation and to formulate an adaptive and sustainable conceptual model. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing various scientific literature, policy reports, and related research findings from the past 5–10 years. The research findings indicate that the main challenges include the digital divide, limited education budgets, low digital literacy, and the complexity of digital system-based governance. On the other hand, digital transformation opens opportunities through the utilization of financial technology (fintech), digital platforms, and big data, which can enhance financial inclusion, budget efficiency, and transparency in the management of education funds. A synthesis of the findings indicates that digital transformation serves as a strategic mediator capable of converting challenges into opportunities through technological innovation and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Therefore, an integrative approach is required that combines adaptive policies, human resource capacity building, and the optimization of digital technology to create an inclusive, efficient, and sustainable education financing system in the digital era.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/361 Performance Based Education Funding Models for Improving the Effectiveness of Fund Management 2026-04-27T07:48:40+07:00 Arthi Friedha El Famoes El Famoes arthi.friedha.ef@gmail.com Zaenal Arifin azka.zaenal@gmail.com Sutrisno Sutrisno sutrisno@upgris.ac.id
This study examines the role of education financing in improving the quality of academic services in educational institutions. These conditions indicate that the conventional education financing model is increasingly insufficient to address the growing complexity of educational demands. This study aims to analyze the limitations of conventional education financing and formulate a partnership-based education financing model as a more adaptive and sustainable alternative. This study employed a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review design. Data were collected from peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, policy documents, and scientific publications published between 2020 and 2025, and were analyzed through literature reduction, categorization, thematic synthesis, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the conventional education financing model is constrained by excessive dependence on public budgets, bureaucratic inefficiency, weak accountability, and limited adaptability. In response, this study proposes a partnership-based education financing model designed as a collaborative financing ecosystem involving government, private sector, communities, and educational institutions. The model is structured around the principles of collaboration, sustainability, and accountability, and implemented through sequential stages of needs assessment, stakeholder mapping, partnership formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This study concludes that partnership-based education financing offers a more flexible, diversified, and sustainable framework for strengthening educational quality and financial resilience in Indonesia.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/371 Contextual PAI Learning Design: Integration of Contextual Teaching and Learning with Islamic Epistemology in the Society 5.0 Era 2026-04-27T07:50:16+07:00 Faqih Abdul Aziz faqihabdoel123@gmail.com Mita Nur Khasanah mitankh01@gmail.com Yaniz Naura Naviana Haryadi yaniznaura30@gmail.com Ali Mudlofir alimudlofir@uinsa.ac.id Ali Mas'ud ali.masud@uinsa.ac.id Asep Saepul Hamdani asepsaepulhamdani@uinsa.ac.id
The Era of Society 5.0 places Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at a critical intersection between the necessity of pedagogical adaptation and the obligation to maintain transcendental integrity. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, which is derived from Western pragmatism epistemology, has proven to have an ontological deficit because it negates the transcendental dimension as the main axis of religious education. On the other hand, there is currently no instructional syntax that comprehensively deconstructs secular CTL and reconstructs it based on Islamic Epistemology to address the challenges of Society 5.0 disruption. Objective: This research aims to (1) analyze the epistemological limitations of Western CTL thru the perspective of Islamic Epistemology, and (2) formulate an instructional syntax for contextual PAI learning design that operationally integrates the pillars of CTL with evidence from the Qur'an and Hadith. Method: This qualitative research based on library research applies the Conceptual Framework Analysis approach integrated with qualitative content analysis. Data was extracted from authoritative texts of the Qur'an, Hadith, tafsir books, and globally reputable journal literature (Scopus and Web of Science), verified thru source triangulation. Results: This research produces: (1) An Epistemological Deconstruction Matrix that maps the limitations of the seven pillars of secular CTL and the Islamic foundation as its alternative; and (2) A Contextual PAI Instructional Design in the form of a continuous seven-phase syntax cycle: Bina' Ma'rifah, Istiqra’ wa Tadabbur, Sual wa Jawab, Majelis Ilmi wa Syura, Uswah Hasanah, Muhasabah, and Mizanul Amal. This design has proven to realize the eight dimensions of the graduate profile of the Merdeka Curriculum and acts as a proactive mitigation instrument against moral crises and digital radicalism. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of a closed-loop instructional system that is adaptive to the disruptions of Society 5.0 civilization with a comprehensive eschatological accountability.
2026-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/340 The Role of Technical Guidance In Improving Teachers' Capacity in Implementing Merdeka Curriculum 2026-04-04T09:09:22+07:00 Jining Jining jiningj24@gmail.com Bernadetha Nadeak jiningj24@gmail.com Lisa Kailola jiningj24@gmail.com
This study examines the role of Technical Guidance in improving teacher capacity to support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum Indonesia. Existing studies tend to examine digital platforms or models in isolation, without evaluating whether technology genuinely reinforces pedagogical quality or undermines Islamic character education values. This study aims to systematically synthesize and critically analyze the effectiveness of digital learning model innovations in PAI, focusing on three dimensions: (1) innovative pedagogical models; (2) educator competency (TPACK) and digital literacy; and (3) infrastructure equity and learning inclusivity. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol was employed, reviewing 16 empirical articles from the Scopus database (2018–2026). Findings indicate that technology integration represents a fundamental pedagogical transformation, not mere digitization. Blended learning, flipped classrooms, and digital tools (LMS, AR, PDF Hyperlinks) have been proven to improve learning outcomes and student engagement. This research aims to reconstruct the philosophy of Islamic education thru the integration of revelation values, rationality, and technological literacy as an epistemological foundation in facing the digital era. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were obtained thru a study of various literatures, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and other relevant sources related to Islamic educational philosophy and digital education transformation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively-analytically with a philosophical approach. The research results indicate that the reconstruction of Islamic education philosophy needs to be directed toward the integration of transcendental values, critical thinking skills, and balanced mastery of digital technology. Islamic education is not only oriented toward the transfer of knowledge but also toward character formation, digital ethics, and the spiritual awareness of students. Thus, the philosophy of Islamic education in the digital era can become a paradigm of education that is adaptive, humanistic, and remains grounded in Islamic values.
2026-05-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/377 Analysis of the Quality of Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) Items in the Field of Natural Sciences (IPA) 2026-05-01T09:38:01+07:00 Mansyur Rahman rahmanmansyur62@gmail.com Mansyur Mansyur mansyur@gmail.com Kaharuddin Arafah arafah@gmail.com
This research aims to analyze the quality of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) items in the field of Natural Sciences (IPA) at the elementary school level in the Selayar Islands. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were 115 elementary school students, with the research object consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions. The focus of the research includes the analysis of content validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination power, and the effectiveness of distractors. The data analysis technique uses the Classical Test Theory (CTT) approach thru the calculation of the Aiken’s V index, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, as well as the analysis of difficulty index, discrimination power, and distractor function. The research results show that all items have very good content validity with Aiken’s V values ranging from 0.80 to 0.93 (average 0.87) and high reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.81. The analysis of difficulty levels shows a value range of 0.35–0.74 with a distribution of 10 items in the moderate category, 3 items easy, and 2 items difficult. The discrimination analysis indicates that all items fall into the good to very good category, effectively distinguishing the abilities of the students. In addition, all distractors functioned effectively because they were chosen by more than 5% of the students. Based on these results, the analyzed AKM IPA instrument has good item quality and is suitable for measuring the abilities of elementary school students.
2026-05-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/378 The Influence of the Film “A Home for Alie” (2025) on the Formation of Moral Character in Adolescents 2026-05-02T10:25:19+07:00 Prasetyo Adinugroho prasetyo@unpak.ac.id Intan Tri Kusumaningtias prasetyoadimilan@gmail.com Restiawan Permana prasetyoadimilan@gmail.com
Film as a mass medium plays a crucial role as an agent of moral value socialization, especially for adolescents who are in the critical phase of identity formation. This study aims to measure the influence of the film "Rumah untuk Alie" (2025) on the moral character development of adolescents at Yayasan Sih Pakarti, Jakarta. The film raises realistic issues of family bullying and the resilience of the main character, which has the potential to become a moral exemplar. This study aimed to describe efforts to strengthen national identity through Civics Education (PKn) for fifth-grade elementary school students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved 2 PKn teachers and 30 Grade V students at one elementary school in Pekanbaru, Riau, selected through purposive sampling based on criteria including active involvement in PKn learning and willingness to participate in the study. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source and method triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal three key strategies for strengthening national identity: (1) integration of national values (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, and NKRI) into PKn learning content through interactive discussions, storytelling, and contextual case studies; (2) nationally-oriented school habituation through flag ceremonies, national anthem singing, and national literacy programs; and (3) student activity-based projects such as patriotic posters, hero narratives, and deliberation simulations. These strategies work synergistically to internalize national values across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. In conclusion, PKn is effective as a vehicle for building national character in elementary school students, equipping them with the values and civic awareness needed to become responsible, patriotic, and globally competent citizens.
2026-05-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/381 Effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in Improving the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability of 5th Grade Elementary School Students in the Selayar Islands 2026-05-02T10:27:23+07:00 Karmila Karmila karmila82@guru.sd.belajar.id Patahuddin Patahuddin patahudin@gmail.com Suryadi Ishak ishak@gmail.com
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fifth-grade elementary school students in the Selayar Islands. This problem leads to the epistemological division in Muslim communities and contributes to poor integration of ethical, religious, and scientific components in the process of educating students. This paper seeks to explore the ideas of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi on Islamization and integration of knowledge with the purpose of solving the problem of educational dualism. To conduct this study, the authors used a qualitative research design with the application of descriptive and contextual approaches. The data was gathered by means of documentation, including major works of al-Faruqi and related to Islamic educational reforms. The results demonstrate that educational dualism emerges as a result of colonial and secular educational traditions in separating religion and science. The background of this research is the still low ability of students' higher-order thinking, caused by the dominance of Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) based questions in learning evaluation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an assessment instrument that can measure students' critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a development model that includes the stages of needs analysis, design, product development, expert validation, testing, and product revision. Validation was conducted by 2 validators consisting of subject matter experts and evaluation experts, while the instrument trial was carried out on 30 fourth-grade elementary school students. The validation results showed that the instrument received a very valid category with a feasibility percentage of 89%, while the reliability results indicated a reliability coefficient of 0.87 with a high category. The developed instrument consists of HOTS-based UAS questions on the IPAS material for fourth-grade elementary school students and is deemed suitable for use after undergoing the validation and revision process. This instrument is also deemed capable of measuring students' higher-order thinking skills more effectively compared to conventional instruments. The focus of the research includes aspects of planning, implementation, supporting facilities, participation of school community members, and the impact of the program on improving the literacy culture of students. The research uses a descriptive evaluative approach with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research subjects consisted of school principals, teachers, and students from several elementary schools in the Selayar Islands. Data collection techniques were carried out thru observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to obtain a comprehensive picture of the program's effectiveness. The research results show that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools in the Selayar Islands has been quite successful, especially in the activity of reading for 15 minutes before lessons begin. The support of the principal and teachers has been the main factor in the program's success. However, several obstacles are still found, such as limited reading collections, inadequate library facilities, low parental involvement, and suboptimal use of digital literacy media. From the aspect of results, the GLS program has a positive impact on students' reading interest, reading comprehension skills, and reading habits, although the improvement is not yet uniform across all schools. Based on the evaluation results, there is a need to improve literacy facilities, strengthen collaboration between schools and parents, and provide ongoing training for teachers in the development of innovative literacy activities. Thus, the School Literacy Movement Program in the Selayar Islands is expected to build a sustainable literacy culture and improve the quality of primary education.
2026-05-17T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/380 Hadroh Nusantara: The Integration of Calligraphy, Geometry, and Esthetic Worship in Sufi Tradition 2026-05-02T10:26:15+07:00 Intan Umi Khofifah Intanhafiz722@gmail.com Irkham Auladi irkham.ald12@gmail.com Supriyanto Supriyanto supriyanto@uinsaizu.ac.id Rohmat Ilham Romadhon iromadhon855@gmail.com Rizki Nur Khanifah riskinurkhanifa@gmail.com
This study addresses the limited research that integrates visual, geometric, and spiritual dimensions within the tradition of Hadroh Nusantara. The objective of this research is to analyze how calligraphy, geometry, and the aesthetics of worship form an integrated system within hadroh as a Sufi expression. The study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and symbolic analysis of visual, musical, and performative elements in hadroh practices. The findings reveal that calligraphy functions as both a visual identity and a medium that directs spiritual awareness, while geometry appears in rhythmic patterns and formations that reflect collective order. The aesthetics of worship are manifested through the practice of selawat, dhikr, and embodied etiquette that create a sacred atmosphere. These three elements are not separate, but interrelated within a unified religious aesthetic system that connects artistic expression with spiritual experience. The study concludes that Hadroh Nusantara represents a form of cultural Sufism that integrates visual, auditory, and performative dimensions into a collective spiritual experience, and contributes significantly to cultural da’wah and contemporary Islamic art discourse.
2026-05-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/382 Indonesia’s Economic Cooperation with BRICS: A Siyasah Maliyah Perspective 2026-05-02T15:22:25+07:00 Aliyah Nur Alip aliyahnur.alif@gmail.com Beni Ahmad Saebani beniahmadsaebani@uinsgd.ac.id Taufiq Alamsyah taufiqalamsyah36@gmail.com
The shift toward a multipolar global order has encouraged Indonesia to join BRICS as a full member to strengthen its strategic position and expand international economic cooperation. This study examines the strategic considerations behind Indonesia’s BRICS membership, its implications for national economic development, and its assessment from the perspective of siyāsah māliyah. This study contributes to the literature by analyzing Indonesia’s BRICS membership through the framework of siyāsah māliyah, which remains rarely discussed in previous studies. This study employs a normative legal research method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on library research. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s membership in BRICS is driven by the need to diversify economic partners, strengthen economic resilience, and expand access to development financing through the New Development Bank (NDB). BRICS membership potentially provides opportunities for financing strategic sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energy. However, the study also identifies risks, including economic dependence and geopolitical tensions. From the perspective of siyāsah māliyah, Indonesia’s cooperation with BRICS may be justified as long as it is directed toward al-maṣlaḥah al-‘āmmah, distributive justice, and economic welfare. Nevertheless, the benefits of such cooperation remain largely prospective, as no NDB-funded projects have yet been implemented in Indonesia.
2026-05-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/385 Implementation of KH. Islamic education, which is rooted in the pesantren tradition, places character formation at the core of the learning process, as formulated in the book Adabut Ta’lim wal Muta’allim. This study applies the PRISMA protocol with a publication range of 2021–2026 and identifies 20 articles that meet the inclusion criteria. The results show that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s pedagogical model is characterized by an emphasis on educator ethics, teacher–student relationships grounded in adab, and the integration of knowledge mastery with personality formation. VOSviewer visualization identifies five main clusters: pesantren and kitab kuning as the pedagogical basis, Islamic education reform, the conceptual dimension of educational thought, the national context, and Arabic language learning. The findings indicate a shift from philosophical studies toward practical implementation and methodological innovation, particularly in increasingly adaptive Arabic language learning. The implications of this study show that traditional methods such as sorogan and bandongan remain relevant, but need to be integrated with communicative approaches, learning technology, and contextual strategies to improve Arabic language competence. This study affirms that KH. The selection of informants was conducted purposively, specifically targeting the leader and members of the community of practitioners. The number of informants is four, consisting of one man and three women. They are in the age range of 20-70 years. The collected data were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques, which consist of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The research results show that the strategy of utilizing social capital by the followers of the "Sapta Darma" belief is carried out in three ways: first, the practice of "Sapta Darma" teachings as a form of bonding capital that functions to strengthen identity and reinforce internal community relationships. Second, involvement in community activities as a form of bridging capital that opens up spaces for information exchange and embodies the practice of noble teachings in social relations. This article examines how Muḥammad ʿImārah’s Al-Samāḥah al-Islāmiyyah constructs Islamic tolerance as coexistence ethics. Using directed qualitative content analysis, the study analyzes textual units concerning Qur'anic non-coercion, the Medina Charter, the Najran Covenant, historical coexistence, and critiques of coercive exclusivism. The analysis shows that ʿImārah organizes tolerance through four interrelated categories: theological non-coercion, constitutional pluralism, active protection of religious communities, and historical participation in Islamic civilization. Its contribution lies in reading Al-Samāḥah al-Islāmiyyah as a unified textual construction that links faith, law, citizenship, protection, and participation. Indonesia is used only as a theoretical context for discussing the relevance of these categories to religious moderation and national coexistence, not as an empirical field site. The study focuses on a community service program conducted in Temengeng Village, Blora Regency, where wayang performances had been absent for more than a decade despite previously functioning as an important collective cultural tradition. Guided by the Religious-Cultural Nationalism Internalization (RCNI) Model, this study employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving community leaders, local residents, village officials, audience participants, and the university service team. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed qualitatively through thematic interpretation. The findings reveal that the revitalization of the wayang performance strengthened cultural loyalty, collective solidarity, moral-religious responsibility, and community commitment toward sustaining local cultural traditions. The symbolic values embodied in the Aji Narantaka episode also fostered emotional engagement and collective awareness regarding social responsibility, cultural preservation, and national identity. These findings demonstrate that traditional cultural performances can function not only as cultural preservation activities, but also as a form of social pedagogy capable of strengthening religious nationalism through collective cultural experiences in rural community life.
2026-05-24T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/391 The Relationship Between Risk-Taking Behavior Viewed From The Impulsivity And Mental Toughness Of Mountain Climbers 2026-05-08T16:07:28+07:00 Mifrohul A'la mifrohulala46@gmail.com Rr Dwi Astuti dwi.astuti@umk.ac.id
Mountain climbing is a high-risk activity that demands good decision-making skills, self-regulation, and psychological readiness. The research is motivated by the need for an Islamic educational model that maintains spiritual authenticity while remaining responsive to contemporary social realities. The study aims to analyze how these two philosophical orientations are integrated into pesantren educational practices and how they contribute to santri character formation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case-study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and institutional documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that Islamic essentialism is reflected in the preservation of turats, cultivation of adab, and continuous spiritual habituation that strengthen personal piety. Meanwhile, Islamic existentialism is implemented through community-oriented programs such as guru tugas, nasyrul ‘ilmi, and safari dakwah, which encourage self-actualization and social responsibility. The integration of these dimensions forms a holistic educational paradigm that balances spirituality, intellectuality, and humanity in shaping socially transformative santri. This study contributes theoretically by offering an integrative framework that bridges Islamic essentialism and existentialism within pesantren educational practices. Practically, the findings provide an alternative educational model for Islamic institutions seeking to preserve religious values while fostering students’ social engagement and contextual awareness in contemporary society.
2026-05-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/388 Teacher's Perspective on the Management Team at the Islamic Boarding School 2026-05-06T20:00:34+07:00 Siti Alsyah acasyaah@gmail.com Inom Nasution inomnasution@gmail.com Rusydi Ananda anandarusydi@gmail.com
The background of the research arises from the need for pesantren institutions to build an effective educational governance system thru the role of institution managers who can direct program implementation. This is because the policy-making process in many educational institutions is still dominated by the main leadership, leaving little room for educators to engage in management functions and institutional decision-making. Teachers' assessments of the management of the pesantren influence the work atmosphere and discipline, so this research examines teachers' opinions on the tasks and composition of the management team, then reviews the communication process, decision-making factors that affect teachers' views, and their impact on the pesantren environment. Thru interviews, observations, and documentation, the researcher collected data from the principal, vise principal, administrative staff, and teachers at the Al-Kautsar Al-Akbar Modern Islamic Boarding School. A qualitative phenomenological approach was chosen to understand the experiences and views of teachers regarding the management of the boarding school, and the findings were analyzed to identify patterns emerging from each piece of information obtained. The research results show that the pesantren already has a fairly organized division of management tasks, although some decisions are still largely determined by the leadership. Meanwhile, the communication relationship between the managers and teachers is open, both thru meetings and digital media. Decision-making is carried out thru deliberation, although teachers more often provide suggestions. The way teachers view management is influenced by work relationships, communication patterns, pesantren culture, and their involvement in management. Additionally, the positive views of the teachers contribute to a comfortable work atmosphere, enhance discipline, and foster responsibility and professionalism in the pesantren.
2026-05-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/409 The Role of BMT Artha Amanah in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through the Integration of Maal-Tamwil Functions: An Equity Theory Perspective 2026-05-16T08:28:06+07:00 Komairah Angriani 2200012030@webmail.uad.ac.id Sartini Wardiwiyono sartini.w@act.uad.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the role of BMT Artha Amanah in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 2 (zero hunger), and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), through the integration of the maal and tamwil functions. This study used a qualitative case study approach, involving six informants: five members and one BMT manager. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The results reveal three main findings. First, productive financing, combined with structured mentoring, increases members’ monthly income and strengthens MSME capacity. Second, optimizing the maal functions through ZISWAF distribution provides a social safety net for vulnerable members during emergencies. Third, the integration of maal and tamwil functions promotes holistic welfare covering economic, social, and spiritual dimensions. However, the program's effectiveness is still constrained by members’ low financial literacy in managing business cash flow. The novelty of this study lies in extending Equity Theory within the context of Islamic microfinance by demonstrating that distributive justice is reflected not only in financial profit-sharing mechanisms but also in equal access to services, empowerment, and managerial assistance. In practice, this study offers a sustainable empowerment model through the synergy between social and commercial functions to support SDG localization.
2026-05-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/403 One Day One Ayat Religious Culture as a Strategy for Strengthening Islamic Character Education in Schools 2026-05-16T08:33:07+07:00 Muhamad Abdilah abdyfatih@gmail.com Mahmutarom Mahmutarom taromuwh@gmail.com Sari Hernawati sari_hernawati@unwahas.ac.id
The rapid development of the digital era has created significant challenges for students’ moral and character development, including declining discipline, weakening spirituality, and increasing negative social behavior within school environments. In response to these challenges, schools are required to develop sustainable religious culture programs to strengthen Islamic character education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the One Day One Ayat program as a religious culture strategy for strengthening Islamic character education at MAN 1 Ngawi. The study employed a qualitative case study approach involving 15 informants consisting of school leaders, Islamic Education teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews, participatory observation, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the One Day One Ayat program was systematically implemented through daily Qur’anic habituation activities involving approximately 320 students. Observation findings indicated improvements in students’ punctuality, participation in collective worship, responsibility in completing academic tasks, consistency in Qur’anic memorization, and respectful interaction toward teachers and peers. Documentation records further showed active student participation in daily Qur’anic recitation and religious activities within the madrasa environment. The study also found that continuous habituation, teacher role modeling, and the integration of Qur’anic values into school activities contributed to strengthening students’ discipline, spirituality, moral awareness, and positive social behavior. This study concludes that the One Day One Ayat program represents an effective and sustainable religious culture strategy for strengthening Islamic character education in contemporary educational settings.
2026-05-27T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/398 Time Management Among Students in Achieving Their Qur'an Memorization Goals at Islamic Boarding School 2026-05-12T08:52:23+07:00 Aulia Nabila billa050823@gmail.com Afiful Ikhwan afifulikhwan@umpo.ac.id Devid Dwi Erwahyudin deviderwahyudin@umpo.ac.id
This study examines the time management of students in achieving their Quran memorization targets at the Ar-Rohmah Islamic Boarding School, Tahfidz Unit, Ngawi. Tahfidz students face dual challenges: the obligation to memorize new verses (ziyadah), review previously memorized verses (muroja’ah), participate in formal classroom instruction, and adhere to the boarding school’s daily routine. This study aims to explain the boarding school’s strategies in helping students manage their time and to analyze the impact of these strategies on the achievement of memorization targets. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, involving female students actively enrolled in the tahfidz program (intermediate and advanced levels) as the primary subjects. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The research findings indicate that Ar Rohmah Islamic Boarding School implements a structured time management system with three daily recitation sessions: review of previously memorized verses after dawn prayer (minimum 5 pages), review of new verses from 7:00–8:00 AM, and ziyadah (new memorization) after afternoon prayer. This strategy is supported by the use of Arabic as the daily language, guidance from halaqah supervisors, as well as weekly and monthly recitation sessions. The resulting impacts include the achievement of the memorization target of 5 juz per year, measurable fluency in recitation, and improvements in the quality of tajwid and fashah. This is due to the emergence of moral degradation issues in the school environment, as seen from the increase in undisciplined behavior, weak social concern, low sense of responsibility, and decreased ethical awareness among students. Therefore, educational institutions can no longer emphasize academic achievement alone but need to build a learning system that places values as the main foundation for character development of students. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method conducted at MTs Negeri 2 Asahan, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. Data collection was carried out thru participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa, teachers, educational staff, and students as sources of information. The data were then analyzed thru a structured process of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to ensure that the research results comprehensively depict the field conditions. The research results show that the implementation of Value-Based Management at MTs Negeri 2 Asahan has been carried out systematically and integrated into all educational activities, starting from the formation of a shared awareness thru the instillation of religious values, discipline, honesty, and responsibility as the foundation of the madrasah culture. This is followed by the process of identifying the gap between ideal values and the actual behavior of students, which is influenced by family conditions, social environment, and differences in student character. The implementation of values is realized thru the integration of character education in learning activities, student programs, counseling services, and point-based disciplinary rules. Thus, this research emphasizes that Value-Based Management is capable of shaping students' character comprehensively thru the application of values integrated into the educational organization's culture.
2026-05-27T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/426 Educational Management Approaches in Islamic-Based Schools: A Systematic Literature Review 2026-05-22T16:14:26+07:00 Nisrina Huwaida Qurrottu` Aini 0100250020@student.ums.ac.id Bambang Sumardjoko sumardjokobambang@gmail.com
This study discusses the educational management approaches applied in Islamic-based schools through a Systematic Literature Review. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for innovating the PAI curriculum in primary schools within the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Employing a systematic literature review methodology with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol, this research analyzed 20 articles published between 2015 and 2025, selected from an initial pool of 172 articles through a structured screening process. The synthesis reveals four key findings: (1) curriculum innovation in PAI must integrate the values of aqidah, syariah, and akhlak with digital literacy competencies; (2) the Tyler Rationale and Taba model provide complementary theoretical foundations for the design of PAI curriculum reform; (3) effective innovation requires a four-stage cyclical process of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation; and (4) the involvement of all stakeholders, educators, families, communities, and policymakers, is indispensable. Based on these findings, a conceptual framework is proposed in which digital literacy and Islamic values serve as dual inputs processed through the four stages of innovation to produce graduates who are spiritually grounded and digitally competent.
