One widely implemented approach is soft selling, where promotional content is presented subtly through lifestyle representation, personal narratives, and authentic experiences. Previous studies have largely examined influencer marketing from the perspective of purchase intention, brand awareness, and consumer engagement, while limited attention has been given to how soft selling communication strategies construct lifestyle meanings and gradually shape consumptive tendencies among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze how influencers implement soft selling strategies and how these strategies influence the formation of Gen Z consumer behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with five Gen Z informants aged 18–28 years and content analysis of influencer accounts on Instagram and TikTok. The findings reveal that soft selling strategies operate through impression management, consistent personal branding, and identity commodification, causing products to be perceived as part of an aspirational lifestyle. The novelty of this research lies in explaining soft selling not only as a marketing technique but also as a symbolic communication process that shapes consumption meanings. Theoretically, this study contributes to influencer marketing and communication studies by emphasizing the relationship between digital identity construction, lifestyle representation, and consumer behavior formation.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/438 Training Engagement Intensity and Prosocial Character Among Young Taekwondo Participants 2026-05-31T11:53:21+07:00 Rizqi Agus Kurniawan 254120600015@mhs.uinsaizu.ac.id Elda Pradana Tika 254120600045@mhs.uinsaizu.ac.id Ifada Novikasari ifa_da@uinsaizu.ac.id Umti Hamimah 244110404041@mhs.uinsaizu.ac.id Rizqi Agustina Setyaningrum citomokiki@gmail.com Irfan Musonif 254120600007@mhs.uinsaizu.ac.id
The increasing complexity of children’s psychosocial development in the digital era has intensified concerns regarding discipline, self-control, and prosocial behavior among young individuals. This study aimed to examine the statistical association between taekwondo training engagement intensity and children’s prosocial character among members of Dojang Golden Eagle. The study employed a quantitative cross-sectional correlational design involving 50 child and adolescent taekwondo participants selected using a total sampling approach. Data were collected through structured self-report questionnaires measuring training engagement intensity and children’s character dimensions, including discipline, responsibility, self-control, social respect, and self-confidence. Construct validity was evaluated using Exploratory Factor Analysis, while reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients. Multiple regression analysis was conducted after assumption testing procedures were satisfied. The findings indicated that training engagement intensity was positively and significantly associated with children’s character scores after controlling for demographic variables (β = .682, p = .001). The regression model explained 43.2% of the variance in character outcomes. The findings suggest that consistent participation in structured taekwondo training environments may be associated with stronger prosocial self-regulatory characteristics among children. Nevertheless, causal interpretations should be made cautiously due to the cross-sectional nature of the study.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/471 The Phenomenon of Determining the Start of Ramadan between the Government and Muhammadiyah from the Perspective of Religious Science 2026-06-11T07:37:40+07:00 Vina Novita 22590124117@students.uin-suska.ac.id Z. Zarkasih zarkasih@uin-suska.ac.id Rian Vebrianto rianvebrianto@gmail.com
Determining the start of Ramadan in Indonesia often creates differences between the government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah, rooted in methodological variations in understanding religious evidence and astronomical approaches. This study aims to analyze the differences in the rukyat and hisab methods from a scientific and religious perspective using a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The study involved 30 respondents from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, who were purposively selected based on their active involvement in the organizations' religious activities. Data were obtained through a Google Form-based questionnaire and interviews, as well as field data collection through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data analysis was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively using triangulation techniques to ensure validity. A reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha was conducted on a 30-item questionnaire instrument covering seven variables; a reliability coefficient of 0.89 was obtained, indicating high instrument consistency. The results showed that 90–97% of respondents demonstrated a high understanding and acceptance of the rukyat and hisab methods, with the integration of religious science and religious perspective variables achieving the highest agreement (97%). Differences in determining the start of Ramadan are not only methodological but also reflect theological, scientific, and social dynamics. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive integration of astronomical science and Islamic jurisprudence perspectives in examining the phenomenon of determining the Hijri calendar, which provides a new theoretical framework for the study of religious science integration in the context of the Indonesian Hijri calendar. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen education regarding rukyat and hisab methods and increase dialogue between the government and religious organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah to achieve harmony amidst methodological diversity.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/461 The Relationship Between Modern Technology And Social Morality: An Analysis Of Islamic Religious Education And Digital Literacy In the Kuntu Darussalam Community 2026-06-08T08:50:55+07:00 Nurul Habibah Arfizeah 22590124660@students.uin-suska.ac.id Z. Rapid technological advancement should not be separated from social morality grounded in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The integration of PAI and digital literacy is expected to guide society in using technology positively, strengthening social ethics, and preventing negative impacts such as the misuse of social media, the spread of invalid information, and the weakening of ethical control in digital interactions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between modern technology and social morality through the integration of PAI and digital literacy using a mixed-method approach with a case study design. The subjects included 30 respondents and two key informants from diverse backgrounds. Data were collected through questionnaires and dyadic in-depth interviews and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicate that the level of public understanding is very high, with an average score of 4.63, demonstrating the community’s ability to integrate PAI values into ethical and responsible technology use. However, challenges remain, including reduced in-person social interaction and limited digital literacy among some members. Overall, this integration requires continuous educational support.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/466 Digital Da'wah Strategy of Nahdlatul Ulama Central Java Through the Website Jateng.nu.or.id 2026-06-09T08:22:16+07:00 Alfin Sirojul Abidin alfinsirojulabidin866@gmail.com
The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the practice of Islamic communication, encouraging religious organizations to adopt digital platforms as strategic channels for da'wah activities. While previous studies have predominantly examined digital da'wah through social media platforms and individual religious influencers, limited attention has been given to institutional website-based da'wah strategies implemented by traditional Islamic organizations. This empirical gap is particularly evident in studies of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at the regional level. Moreover, existing research often employs a single theoretical perspective, leaving a theoretical gap regarding the integration of multiple communication and media theories in understanding digital religious communication. This study aims to analyze the digital da'wah strategy implemented by Jateng.nu.or.id, the official digital platform of Nahdlatul Ulama Central Java. Employing a qualitative case study approach with thematic analysis, the research draws upon website observations, document analysis, and interviews with key informants involved in digital media management and religious communication. The analysis is informed by Digital Da'wah Theory, Uses and Gratifications Theory, Media Ecology Theory, Diffusion of Innovation Theory, and Social Media Engagement Theory. The findings reveal five strategic dimensions of digital da'wah: institutionalization of digital religious communication, strategic content diversification, multi-platform dissemination, audience engagement and participation, and sustainability through organizational credibility and technological adaptation. The study demonstrates that Jateng.nu.or.id functions not only as a medium for disseminating Islamic teachings but also as a digital ecosystem that strengthens religious authority, community interaction, and public access to credible religious information. Theoretically, this study proposes the Digital Da'wah Ecosystem Strategy Model, offering an integrated framework for understanding institutional digital da'wah in contemporary Muslim societies. Practically, the findings provide insights for Islamic organizations seeking to optimize digital media for sustainable religious communication.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/457 Community Percpections of the Integration of Islam and Science Hygie Practies in Kampung Tualang 2026-06-09T08:12:20+07:00 Eliza Putri Ardiah 22590124645@students.uin-suska.ac.id Z. This condition has the potential to limit the strengthening of religious moderation in multicultural Indonesian society. This study aims to analyze the transformation of diversity literacy in Islamic boarding schools from a doctrinal memorization pattern to an interpretive approach through a synthesis of Robert Jackson's thoughts and Azyumardi Azra's Islamic pluralism. The study used a qualitative approach with a library research type. Data were obtained from various literature on Islamic boarding school education, religious moderation, multicultural education, yellow book learning, and bahtsul masa'il activities, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that diversity literacy in Islamic boarding schools has shifted from memorization-oriented learning to a more dialogical, reflective, and contextual process. In addition, Azyumardi Azra's concept of Islamic pluralism is relevant in strengthening religious moderation through the values of wasathiyah, tolerance, and ukhuwah basyariyah. The integration of interpretive approaches and Islamic pluralism also contributes to the development of multicultural education in Islamic boarding schools by encouraging openness, respect for differences, and a culture of deliberation through discussions of religious texts and bahtsul masa'il (Islamic discourse). These findings underscore the potential of Islamic boarding schools to develop students who are religious, moderate, and adaptable to a diverse society.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/476 Jacques Derrida's Deconstruction: Theory, Method and Its Application in Text and Discourse Studies 2026-06-11T16:55:39+07:00 Muhammad Saikhudin msaikhudin525@gmail.com Eva Dewi evadewi@uin-suska.ac.id
This article examines Jacques Derrida's deconstruction theory as a critical approach to understanding text, language, and reality. Deconstruction emerged as a response to the Western philosophical tradition that emphasizes certainty, unity, and absolute truth a tendency that Derrida referred to as logocentrism and the metaphysics of presence. This study aims to describe the theoretical background of deconstruction, explain its concepts and principles, elaborate on the deconstructive reading method, and illustrate its application in text and discourse studies. This study employs a library research approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that deconstruction is grounded in a critique of logocentrism, binary opposition, and the metaphysics of presence in Western philosophy. Its core principles include the instability of meaning, rejection of binary hierarchies, and the concept of différance as both deferral and difference of meaning. The deconstructive reading method involves identifying binary oppositions, reversing hierarchies, exposing internal contradictions, tracing the trace of meaning, and opening new possibilities of interpretation. In text and discourse studies, deconstruction is used to uncover hidden meanings, power relations embedded in language, and to foster critical thinking in educational contexts. Deconstruction, therefore, functions not only as a method of textual analysis but also as a mode of critical thinking relevant to the development of contemporary knowledge.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/442 Strategies of Elementary School Teacher Education Students in Overcoming Public Speaking Anxiety During Academic Presentation Activities 2026-06-02T08:29:51+07:00 Siti Nova Chusnul Khotimah nova.chusnulll@gmail.com Ifa Seftia Rakhma Widiyanti widayatiifa@gmail.com
Academic presentations are part of the pedagogical training of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students, and many of them experience anxiety about public speaking. This research was an attempt to see how anxiety manifests in the lives of public speakers, how they cope with it, and what factors determine if coping strategies work. The approach used was qualitative descriptive method, number of respondents of PGSD students in the selection of 5 students used purposive sampling at PGRI Ronggolawe University. Semi-structured in-depth interviews and field notes were used to collect data and subsequently analyzed thematically using the Self-Efficacy theory. The results indicate that students are anxious in 3 aspects: the physiological aspect, such as trembling, sweating and fast heartbeat, the cognitive aspect, fear of negative evaluation and difficulty in concentrating, and the behavioral aspect, avoiding eye contact, and speaking too fast. Students employed both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies to manage these situations. Problem-focused approaches included thorough preparation and repeated practice, while emotion-focused coping involved relaxation exercises, breathing techniques, visualization, positive self-talk, and seeking social support. Self-efficacy, previous experience, quality of preparation and support from peers or lecturers are all significant factors in the effectiveness of the strategies. In general, public speaking anxiety could be dealt with by adaptive coping strategies and supportive learning environments to boost students' abilities to communicate.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/469 Digital Religious Literacy and the Promotion of Religious Moderation through Islamic Education Learning among Senior High School Students 2026-06-11T07:44:56+07:00 Anggi Wulandini anggidini46@gmail.com Mambaul Ngadimah mambaulngadimah@gmail.co
The development of digital media has transformed the way students acquire religious information. On the one hand, digital media expands access to religious knowledge; on the other hand, it has the potential to disseminate non-credible information and influence students’ religious attitudes. This study aims to analyze students’ digital religious literacy in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning and its implications for strengthening religious moderation. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Babadan, Ponorogo. The participants consisted of one Islamic Religious Education teacher and five eleventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model. The findings reveal four main themes. First, there has been a transformation in the sources and construction of students’ religious literacy, shifting from a teacher-centered model to the utilization of diverse digital sources. Second, critical digital literacy enhances students’ religious understanding through practices of information verification, source comparison, and confirmation of religious information. Third, Islamic Religious Education teachers serve as epistemic guides who assist students in identifying credible religious sources while integrating digital media into the learning process. Fourth, digital religious literacy contributes to strengthening students’ understanding of religious moderation by fostering tolerance, openness, and respect for diversity. The study concludes that digital religious literacy has the potential to reinforce religious moderation when supported by students’ critical thinking skills and adequate teacher guidance in navigating the digital environment.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/473 Karl Popper's Falsification and Its Implications in Research Methodology 2026-06-11T12:04:31+07:00 Nasrun Nasrun abbahgaol8@gmail.com Eva Dewi evadewi@uin-suska.ac.id
This article critically examines Karl Raimund Popper's theory of falsification as one of the most significant epistemological contributions to the philosophy of science in the twentieth century. Despite extensive scholarship on Popperian philosophy, there remains a gap in the literature regarding its integrated methodological application, particularly in the context of contemporary scientific research and integrative Islamic scholarship. This study employs a qualitative library research approach, utilizing historical analysis, conceptual analysis, and critical synthesis as its analytical framework. Primary sources include Popper's foundational works, The Logic of Scientific Discovery (1959) and Conjectures and Refutations (1963), supplemented by relevant secondary and tertiary literature. The findings indicate that falsification emerged as a critical response to the Vienna Circle's verification principle, offering a more robust demarcation criterion that distinguishes empirical science from non-science based on a theory's falsifiability. Rather than serving merely as a logical procedure, falsification carries concrete methodological implications: a paradigmatic shift from inductive to hypothetico-deductive logic, the emergence of corroboration as a replacement for absolute confirmation, and a demand for critical rigor in hypothesis formulation. This article further argues that the epistemological limitations of falsification, including its susceptibility to auxiliary hypothesis manipulation as identified in the Duhem-Quine thesis, require engagement with post-Popperian frameworks such as Lakatos's research programmes. Ultimately, falsification remains an indispensable epistemological tool for maintaining methodological integrity in research that claims scientific status.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/475 The Effect of Animated Video Media on Learning Motivation in Islamic Religious Education Among Grade VIII Students of MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru 2026-06-11T17:00:49+07:00 Hasyiyati Hasyiyati 22590124709@students.uin-suska.ac.id Nunu Mahnun nunu.mahnun@uin-suska.ac.id
Learning motivation plays an important role in supporting the success of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning. However, initial observations at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru revealed that students' learning motivation was still low, characterized by a lack of activity, enthusiasm, and focus during learning. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on the learning motivation of Grade VIII students at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population and sample consisted of 32 students selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample t-Test with the aid of SPSS version 25. The results showed that all instrument items were valid (r-calculated > r-table = 0.349) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.840). Descriptive statistics indicated an increase in the mean learning motivation score from 41.37 at pretest to 54.06 at posttest. The normality test confirmed normal data distribution (pretest Sig. = 0.403; posttest Sig. = 0.060). The Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of Hₐ. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media has a significant effect on the learning motivation of Grade VIII students in Islamic Religious Education at MTs Rabithatul Ulum Pekanbaru.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/485 Educational Values in Fathul Kutub: The Experience of Students of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor 2026-06-14T20:40:24+07:00 Fanisa Aulia Putri fanisaaulia1224@gmail.com Fairuz Subakir fairuz.subakir@unida.gontor.ac.id
This article aims to analyze and describe the educational values contained in Fathul Kutub's activities based on the experiences of KMI final grade students at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor For Girls Campus 3. In terms of Arabic language development, Fathul Kutub contributes to improving students four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing, through direct engagement with classical Islamic texts. The internalization of this value occurs through an experiential learning process in which students actively search, analizy, discuss and present ideas based on authoritative references. These findings imply that Pesantren educators need to design contextual, text-based learning activities that strengthen both students’ intellectual capacity and character formation in the digital era will facing contemporary educational challenges more effectively.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/481 The Digital Era and The Knowledge Revolution: Perspectives From Islamic Epistemology and Islamic Religious Education 2026-06-12T12:40:41+07:00 Cita Suci citasuci2704@gmail.com Eva Dewi evadewi@uin-suska.ac.id
This article examines the intersection of the digital era's knowledge revolution and the Islamic epistemological framework, and its implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The digital era described by Manuel Castells as the "network society," Alvin Toffler as the "third wave," and Don Tapscott as the rise of the "Net Generation" has fundamentally transformed how humans acquire, process, and disseminate knowledge. Employing a qualitative library research method with philosophical-analytical content analysis, this article argues that Islamic epistemology which integrates revelation (wahy), reason (aql), the senses (hawas), and intuition (qalb) under the principle of tawhid is capable of critically responding to and correcting the digital knowledge revolution, which tends toward secularism and value-neutrality. The integration-interconnection paradigm (M. Amin Abdullah), Islamization of Knowledge (al-Faruqi), and the concept of ta'dib (al-Attas) serve as the foundational pillars for reconstructing PAI in the digital age. The results show that PAI must transform from mere cognitive transfer toward the cultivation of adab and digital literacy grounded in Islamic values, making technology a tool for da'wah while simultaneously serving as a bulwark against hoaxes, post-truth, and the disruption of scholarly authority. This study aimed to investigate EFL students’ acceptance of AI tools in English writing using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 151 EFL university students from several universities in Jakarta who had experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grammarly in writing activities. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of four TAM dimensions: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Toward Using AI Tools, and Behavioral Intention. The questionnaire demonstrated satisfactory reliability, with Cronbach’s Alpha values ranging from 0.806 to 0.881. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed a high level of acceptance of AI tools across all dimensions. Behavioral Intention showed the highest mean score (M = 20.85), followed by Attitude Toward Using AI Tools (M = 20.83), Perceived Ease of Use (M = 20.70), and Perceived Usefulness (M = 20.26). The results indicate that students perceived AI tools as useful, easy to use, and beneficial in supporting various stages of the writing process. Overall, the study suggests that AI tools have been positively accepted by EFL students and may serve as valuable resources for enhancing English writing activities in higher education contexts.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/492 The Relationship of Langauage, Education and Civiliziation 2026-06-16T07:06:23+07:00 Ayu Pertiwi 22590822748@students.uin-suska.ac.id Sutarmo Sutarmo sutarmo@uin-suska.ac.id
This paper examines the interrelationship between language, education, and civilization from an Islamic perspective, drawing on the thought of Al-Farabi, Al-Ghazali, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas, and Ibn Khaldun. Despite the significance of these three elements in shaping human development, their interconnection as an integrated framework within Islamic intellectual tradition remains underexplored in existing scholarship. Using a library research design and a thematic and comparative philosophical analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic sources, this study identifies three key patterns: (1) language functions as a divine gift and epistemological vehicle for transmitting knowledge across generations; (2) education conceptualized through tarbiyah, ta'lim, and ta'dib transforms linguistic and cognitive capacity into moral and spiritual formation; and (3) civilization emerges as the cumulative expression of sustained educational traditions, as illustrated by Ibn Khaldun's concept of 'umran. The analysis reveals a mutually reinforcing triad in which each element enables and sustains the others. The paper concludes that this Islamic integrative framework offers a normatively rich and practically relevant alternative to reductive models of education, with particular implications for curriculum design and civilizational renewal in contemporary Muslim-majority contexts.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/436 Sociology of Educational Institutions: Motivation And Influence of Socioeconomic Status on Student Involvement in PKBM Ar-Rosyid Purwokerto 2026-05-29T14:47:17+07:00 Nadilatur Rofiqoh nadilatur05@gmail.com Irkham Auladi irkham.ald12@gmail.com Moh. Hanif mohhanif@gmail.com
This research is motivated by the fact that there is still a gap in student involvement influenced by the socioeconomic status (SSE) of families in non-formal educational institutions. The study aims to analyze the influence of SSE on student motivation and engagement in PKBM Ar Rosyid Purwokerto, identify the factors that mediate these relationships, and explore institutional strategies in reducing learning participation gaps. The research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study design anchored. The data source consisted of 3 homeroom teachers, 12 students from the low, medium, and high SSE categories, the head of PKBM, and 3 parents who were selected through purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through participatory observations, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and field notes. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The validity of the data was tested through source triangulation and triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that students from low SSE face obstacles in the form of limited learning facilities, access to technology, and family economic pressures that have an impact on learning engagement. However, family support, teacher attention, and positive relationships between students can increase learning motivation. This study also found that a culture of social care through peer mentoring, psychological mentoring, and affirmative policies of PKBM plays an important role in reducing the impact of socio-economic
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/474 Developing AI-Based Educational Animated Videos for Islamic Religious Education in Junior High Schools 2026-06-11T12:02:20+07:00 Muhammad Rayfansyah rayfansyahm@gmail.com Muhammad Luthfi Hamzah muhammad.luthfi@uin-suska.ac.id
This study aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based educational animated video as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI), specifically on the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) topic "Andalusia: The City of Islamic Civilization in the West" for seventh-grade junior high school students, as well as to assess its feasibility and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. Previous studies on PAI learning media have rarely integrated generative AI technologies into animated instructional design. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects consisted of 17 seventh-grade students at SMP Al-Muhajirin Pekanbaru, selected through purposive sampling. A Pre-Experimental Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design was applied. Data were collected using a media expert validation sheet (Likert scale), as well as pre-test and post-test instruments. The media expert validation results indicated a feasibility percentage of 93.13%, categorized as "Highly Feasible". Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded a Z value of -3.650 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001, demonstrating a significant difference between pre-test scores (mean 66.47) and post-test scores (mean 85.88). The average N-Gain Score of 0.6346 (63.46%) falls within the "moderate" and "sufficiently effective" categories. Therefore, the AI-based educational animated video developed in this study is declared feasible and effective for use in PAI learning at the junior high school level.

2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/465 Maqasid Syariah as the Foundation of Religious Moderation in a Multicultural Society: A Conceptual Analysis of Strengthening Social Benefits 2026-06-09T08:19:10+07:00 Krisnanda Alifia Ramadhanty rohmanrifai56@gmail.com Moh. The research employed a qualitative approach through library research. The primary data sources consisted of the Qur'an, Hadith, classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship on Maqasid Shariah, as well as scientific publications discussing religious moderation and multiculturalism. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis by identifying, categorizing, and synthesizing key themes related to the objectives of Islamic law and the principles of religious moderation. The findings indicate that Maqasid Shariah, through the principles of preserving religion (hifz al-din), life (hifz al-nafs), intellect (hifz al-'aql), lineage (hifz al-nasl), and property (hifz al-mal), provides a normative foundation for promoting tolerance, social justice, peaceful coexistence, and resistance to radicalism. The novelty of this study lies in its conceptual synthesis that systematically links the objectives of Maqasid Shariah with indicators of religious moderation and social welfare in multicultural contexts. The study contributes theoretically by enriching the discourse on religious moderation through a maqasid-syariah framework that bridges Islamic normative values with contemporary social realities. Therefore, Maqasid Shariah serves not only as a legal objective but also as a conceptual foundation for strengthening social welfare and harmonious coexistence in multicultural societies.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities
