Using a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, the research involved a survey of 60 respondents who had previously donated through digital means, followed by in-depth interviews with selected participants. The quantitative results reveal that perceived ease of use, accessibility, and trust in digital platforms significantly influence interest in digital almsgiving. Additionally, Islamic values such as religiosity, ibadah maliyah (financial worship), and the pursuit of barakah (divine blessing) play a central role in shaping intentions. Qualitative findings further show that emotional engagement, particularly empathy evoked by donation content and social encouragement from peers and influencers, enhances this interest. The study concludes that Generation Z’s participation in digital almsgiving is driven by a synergy of technological convenience, spiritual motivation, and emotional-social dynamics. These findings offer important implications for optimizing digital donation platforms and advancing Islamic digital almsgiving.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/173 The Psychological and Spiritual Motivations Behind Digital Alms Giving 2025-06-05T07:00:30+07:00 Ena Bhekti Rahayu k.rahayu1901@gmail.com Meiyanda Eka Nuraeni meyandanuraeni@gmail.com Imam Nur Hadzik Imam46037@gmail.com Anas Ragil Saputra anasragil88@gmail.com
The research aims to identify the internal emotional, cognitive, and faith-based factors that influence charitable behavior through digital platforms, and how these motivations reflect the interplay between modern technology and traditional religious values. The advent of digital technology has had a profound impact on the domain of digital charity. The present study aims to analyse the psychological and spiritual factors that influence digital charity by Indonesians. The collection of data was achieved through the administration of questionnaires to 73 respondents and in-depth interviews with five individuals, as part of a mixed-method approach and explanatory sequential design. This research can demonstrate that straightforward and transparent access can be the primary factor that propels digital charity. From a psychological perspective, the desire to participate and provide benefits to others can have a positive impact. Spiritually, sincerity in one's intentions, the expression of gratitude, and the establishment of a sense of trust in the process of giving alms via digital platforms have been shown to be conducive to the experience of blessings.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/170 The Implementation of Democratic Education in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Learning to Shape the Creative Character of Students in Madrasah Aliyah 2025-06-02T10:36:27+07:00 Rosyada Ayu Fatimah rosyadaayufatimah@gmail.com Arif Rahman arifrahmanuad@gmail.com Betty Mauli Rosa Bustam bettymaulirosabustamuad@gmail.com
Character education is an important issue in forming a young generation with integrity and creativity. However, the lack of emphasis on this aspect in learning, especially at the madrasah level, is still an obstacle. This study aims to identify the implementation of democratic education by teachers in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, explain the process of forming students' creative character, and analyze its impact. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at MA Al-Ichsan Kulon Progo. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that teachers implemented democratic education by creating a participatory, reflective, and collaborative learning atmosphere. Democratic education has proven effective in forming students' creative character as reflected through aspects of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The impact is seen in increasing students' independence, creativity, and adaptability in PAI learning.
2025-06-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/167 The Impact of Online Games on Adolescent Health in Umbul Rowo Hamlet 2025-06-05T09:12:35+07:00 Miftahul Munir miftahulmunir@gmail.com Mashudi Ma’ruf mashudimaruguml@gmail.com Emawati Dwi Astuti emawatidwiastuti@gmai.com Siti Roudhotul Jannah sitiroudatuljannah@gmail.com
This research aims to analyze the influence of online gaming on the mental health of adolescents in Dusun Umbul Rowo. The background of this study is based on the increasing use of online games among teenagers, which impacts various aspects of life, particularly mental health. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique. The sample in this study consists of 32 adolescents aged 13–18 years, selected purposively. Data was collected through closed questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression tests. The results of the study indicate a significant influence between the intensity of online gaming and the mental health of adolescents, with a significance value of 0.002 (< 0.05). The longer the gaming duration, the greater the tendency for respondents to experience sleep disturbances, anxiety, and reduced social interaction. However, some respondents also reported emotional and cognitive benefits from gaming, such as decreased stress and improved focus. This research emphasizes the importance of monitoring online gaming usage and the need for education on mental health to prevent long-term negative impacts.
2025-06-24T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/193 Local Culture as a Resource in Islamic Religious Education in Quran Savaty Elementary School 2025-07-19T09:18:08+07:00 Muhammad Ilham Hidayat muhilhamhidayat.mih@gmail.com Sampara Palili syampara2511@gmail.com
This research aims to explore how local culture is used as a resource in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education at Quran Savaty Elementary School. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, this study reveals that the integration of local culture such as regional Islamic art, local wisdom values (siri' na pacce, sipakatau, and pangngaderreng), and religious activities with local nuances significantly strengthen the effectiveness of Islamic religious education. Programs such as tahfidz 30 juz, tahsinul qira'ah and recitation, educational outings, character building, love of mosques from an early age, and extracurricular activities are designed with a culturally based contextual approach. The results of the study show that this strategy succeeds in fostering students' love for the Qur'an and Islamic values, while strengthening their identity, spirituality, and connection to the socio-cultural environment. This learning model shows that Islamic education can develop inclusively, creatively, and still maintain noble local values.
2025-07-24T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities https://edusoshum.org/index.php/EDU/article/view/201 The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Qur'an Memorization Ability in Islamic Boarding Schools 2025-07-19T09:32:53+07:00 M. Based on the results of descriptive analysis and statistical tests, it was found that emotional intelligence has a significant influence on memorization ability. The average emotional intelligence score of 68.7 and memorization ability of 63.1 indicate that although the level of emotional intelligence of students is relatively good, their memorization ability is still below it. The regression analysis yielded a correlation coefficient value (R) of 0.474, indicating a moderate relationship between the two variables, and an R-Square value of 0.225 indicating a contribution of emotional intelligence of 22.5% to memorization ability. In addition, the ANOVA test results showed a significance of 0.000, which means the relationship between emotional intelligence and memorization ability is statistically significant. The calculated F-value of 15.345 also supports the validity of the regression model used. These findings confirm the importance of developing emotional aspects in the tahfidz learning process. Emotional coaching that includes emotional management, self-motivation, and spiritual resilience has been shown to contribute to successful Qur'an memorization. Thus, pesantren are expected not only to focus on the technical aspects of memorization, but also to integrate learning strategies that support the balance between students' cognitive and emotional abilities. This holistic approach is believed to be able to improve the quality of memorization more optimally and sustainably.
2025-07-24T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Edusoshum : Journal of Islamic Education and Social Humanities
